News of the day: Trump puts Zelensky, partial truce for Putin and the rearme of Europe on his knees

The Ukrainian president, Vlodimir Zelensky, has responded to Donald Trump on social networks after the US decision to freeze the aid to Ukraine. Through a message in X, Zelensky has shown a turn in his position, ensuring that Ukraine is committed to peace and willing to negotiate a lasting agreement, in line with the plan proposed by French president Emmanuel Macron, which includes a truce in the air and the sea, as well as the release of prisoners.

He has expressed his gratitude for the support of the United States, especially recalling the Javelín missile supply, but Zelensky has prevented himself from apologizing for the tense meeting at the White House, describing it as “unfortunate” but without seeking forgiveness. Despite the apparent moderation in his tone, the Ukrainian President has reaffirmed his willingness to sign agreements that guarantee the security of his country, while preparing for the impact of the suspension of aid and the change of course in Washington's policy.
