This Wednesday, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States Department of the Treasury has reported that it added to its list of specially designated nationals (SND) several individuals, entities, ships and networks related to the Russian military campaign in Ukraine, freezing its assets. The sanctions affect five people, three from Russia, one from Afghanistan and one from Iran, as well as four entities, including Am Asia M6 Ltd., based in Hong Kong.
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, highlighted the position of her government to reject the “eye for eye” policy, stressing that the key is in the continuous dialogue to resolve differences, especially with the United States and Canada. Sheinbaum said that, although measures will be taken in response to external actions, priority is the well -being of Mexico, and that her responsibility as president is to ensure the Mexican people. He also said that, in case of new tariffs against Canada, Mexico will take retaliation measures, maintaining communication with both governments.
China has continued on Wednesday with its military maneuvers near Taiwan, carrying out exercises with real fire in the Eastern China Sea. The drills, called “Thunder of the Strait-2025A”, included precision attacks on simulated objectives such as ports and energy facilities, achieving the planned results, according to Colonel Shi Yi of the Popular Chinese Liberation Army. The United States has condemned maneuvers, warning that these activities only increase tensions and threaten regional security.
