Victor Alvargonzalez, director of strategy at the independent advisory firm Nextep Finance, discusses how the Fed is not at its best when it comes to credibility. He says that the Central Banks do not take him seriously. The reason for this is that the Federal Reserve comments that it has not taken a pause. And it is that, the logical thing is that if the disinflationary forces are working, the FED should have stopped and acted accordingly.
The director of strategy believes that no matter how much Powell says, the one who decides where the interest rate will be is inflation, because he confirms: “Where the captain rules, the sailor doesn’t rule; and, in this case, the captain is inflation and the sailor is the FED”.
Also, he talks about the United States economy, about investors. He says that in the great American country, everyone invests in equities and that if the stock market goes up, people spend more. The FED, says Víctor, does not want a wealth effect on citizens.
